About Us
We are a group dedicated to improving the standard of public transport.  Our aim is to create a user friendly rail service that meets all expectations of reliability, frequency and cleanliness.

We aim to protect the line up to and beyond Birmingham and Worcester and to promote the re-opening of the former Stourbridge to Dudley railway with an extension to Walsall.  We are currently in conversation with Transport for West Midlands to discuss the best way forward to provide direct links from Stourbridge to Dudley and beyond.

Our efforts so far have helped to upgrade evening and Sunday services, provide new through routes and refurbish many stations. We are currently in discussion with West Midlands Trains and West Midlands Rail Executive on our proposals to reinstate regular direct services from Hagley and Blakedown to Worcester and, subject to final Network Rail acceptance, these services will be restored in June 2024.

Our strength is in the number of our members and we will always welcome new members.

SLUG is administered by a committee who meet with representatives of the railway industry and local authorities bi-monthly.  Our committee is currently small in number so we would welcome any member who is interested in helping to bring improvements to Stourbridge line services to join our committee.  The current committee consists of the following members.
