December 2025 Timetable Changes
A new timetable comes into force on 14 December. There are only a small number of changes to Stourbridge line services.
West Midlands Railway
- As the result of a suggestion from SLUG, on Saturdays, the last train of the day from Worcester, which currently leaves Worcester Foregate Street at 22:12, has been moved back to depart at 22:22 and will operate 10 minutes later between Worcester Foregate Street and Birmingham Snow Hill. This gives Saturday evening visitors to Worcester some extra time in the city. We will continue to press for later evening services but this will be impossible unless Network rail changes the times that it takes possession of the line for overnight works.
Chiltern Railways
- On Mondays to Fridays, the through trains from London Marylebone to Stourbridge Junction will be at 16:37 and 18:37 from Marylebone, instead of at 17:07 and 18:07.
- After a discussion between SLUG and Chiltern Railways, on Saturday mornings, there is an extra through service from Stourbridge Junction to London Marylebone. This will depart Stourbridge Junction at 06:44 and call at Rowley Regis (06:55) and Smethwick Galton Bridge (07:01), arriving at Marylebone at 09:17.
Please note that there will be major improvements to the Chiltern Railways timetables from December 2026 when the new Mark 5a trains come into squadron service. Three units will be stabled overnight at Stourbridge Depot instead of two as at present. SLUG is talking to Chiltern Railways to get improved through services between the Stourbridge line and London Marylebone from December 2026.
