Trial of Connecting Service To Bewdley Announced
An eight-week trial starting on 1 September will see connecting train services running over the Severn Valley Railway between Bewdley and Kidderminster Town to provide connections with main line services at Kidderminster.
The service will operate on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, mostly using heritage DMUs, although it is possible that steam trains could be used at times.
The timetable for the services, which also shows details of connecting services to and from Birmingham and Worcester is as follows: -
Through fares to and from Bewdley will be available. As an example, a peak return ticket from Bewdley to Birmingham will cost £16, compared with £12.50 from Kidderminster to Birmingham.
If the trial proves to be a success, it is hoped that a more regular daily timetable will be introduced, with off-peak journeys offering connecting services to the West Midlands Safari Park.
